GreazeFest 2020 canceled until 2021

Next GreazeFest event dates - July 30, July 31, August 1, 2021

After much consideration and discussion, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the GreazeFest to next year due to the COVID19 pandemic.

The next GreazeFest will take place over the weekend of Friday July 30 to Sunday August 1, 2021 at Redland Showgrounds, Queensland.

We have been monitoring the virus situation closely since we made our initial postponement, hoping the virus would be settled by the end of the year. Considering the developing outbreak over the past two weeks, it has become clear that we can’t proceed in November.

Covid Safe Event Rules

The Queensland Government has released new Covid Safe responsibilities for the events industry, which means that this year GreazeFest would only be permitted 25% of our usual attendance.

As well as turning away hundreds of GreazeFest attendees, it would also mean there could be no gathering in front of the stage for the bands and parades, no standing close together and no dancing.

Potential Lockdown

Even if we did proceed, the reality of another lockdown prior to GreazeFest is very real. If the Government chose to close borders, businesses and lockdown suburbs, it would be devastating for so many people involved with the festival.

GreazeFest Tickets – Rollover or Refund

All tickets purchased for GreazeFest 2020 will be rolled over to GreazeFest 2021.

So if you have already bought your ticket, be it a day pass, a weekend pass or a t-shirt, please hold onto it, as it will be valid for GreazeFest 2021.

Ticket holders also have the option for a refund. Please email your ticket order details to request a refund: events@robot.com.au

We appreciate everyone who held onto their bookings following our initial postponement announcement in March. Your tickets will remain valid for 2021.

Markets

Vendor and market stall bookings will automatically be rolled over to GreazeFest 2021. Vendors wishing to change their booking can get in touch by email to: events@robot.com.au

Guest Artists and Performers in 2021

Our international guests for this year have been re-invited for GreazeFest 2021. As you can understand, this will be subject to what happens with the Australian border in the future.

We will be sharing all the news on your favouite Australian performers as we roll towards GreazeFest 2021.

Hot Rod Shows and Art Show

All entrants who have registered for either the Hot Rod Shows or the Built For Speed Art Show will be automatically rolled over to GreazeFest 2021.

Pinup Parades

We are restyling the Pinup Parades for 2021 and we will be sharing the exciting news as we head towards GreazeFest 2021.

If you have applied for a Parade, we will keep your application valid and will be in touch with you by email when we are ready for the re-launch.

Workshops

The Von Hot Rod and Shannon Brooke Workshops have been rescheduled for 2021, subject to travel permissions. We will publish details as soon as we know.

This will be the first year in 21 years that we haven’t staged GreazeFest.

We will miss gathering with all of you at our annual GreazeFest, but time will move quickly, so please stay safe and well and we will be back together again soon.
